EMERALD TIME came up short in his bid to follow up his previous victory at Worcester last time out, but he is afforded another chance to redeem himself at a more realistic level.
Having his first outing under his new joint venture of Dominic Elsworth & Ryan Hatch, the son of Time Test made an immediate impact when winning a useful speed figure at the Midland venue and it was just a simple case of finding Class 3 company too tough to handle at Newton Abbot last time out.
That said, he still impressed with the way he travelled through most of the contest and if it wasn’t for a bad mistake at the last, he would have finished a creditable second.
Back in grade and over an easy two miles, the lightly raced five-year-old should still have plenty more to offer and with King Sacre likely to make it a fair test, he is strongly fancied to make his presence felt at the business end.

DIVILABOTHER arrives here in fine fettle having completed his hat trick over today’s course just two days ago and with connections seemingly happy enough for him to roll the dice again, his fine run of results is more likely to be maintained than not.
Tristan Davidson’s grey began his winning spree at Hexham a month ago and he went on to prove a thorn in the side of backers of Irish raider, Nakassama, at Cartmel two weeks later, wearing down the heavily backed favourite close home.
In a much stronger race here last time out, the eight-year-old was given plenty of time to ease into the contest despite dropping back in trip but he ended up answering every call, staying on extremely powerfully to come from last to first in the final half a mile.
Such was his gear change in that time frame, he managed to run the final circuit considerable quicker than every other horse on the card and now heading back in the direction of a trip that will play even more into strengths, the son of Markaz can justify the quick turnaround.
