The Gimcrack at York a month ago produced a very fast speed figure and FINAL OBJECTIVE rates a confident choice to fly the flag for the form in this similar race on paper.
Karl Burke’s colt, who settled nicely off the decent pace set by Agamemnon, was still noted going well at halfway and when asked the ultimate question inside the final furlong, he had the misfortune to bump into the terrier-like Arapaho Gold, who maintained his unbeaten record.
In pulling well clear of the rest, however, he came out of the race with a great deal of credit and with the likelihood of another sound pace behind the order of the day, the son of Sioux Nation’s strong-travelling nature should ensure he gets down to the business end holding every chance.

Nigel Tinkler had a welcome winner with Sergeant Mayer the other day and the Yorkshire handler could be in line for more joy with AMIDST THE CHAOS in this concluding handicap.
Other than one inexplicably bad run at Redcar two starts ago, the four-year-old has been fairly consistent in recent times and his last two runs when stepping up to 1m2f have been more in keeping with his overall profile.
A bit too keen for his own good in the early stages here two starts ago, he still managed to finish second in a competitive contest and his effort last time at Newcastle was backed up by a very useful speed figure for the grade.
A previous winner on Town Moor, his overall record here now reads 7122 and with today’s big field likely to generate the kind of pace that allow him to drop his head, a better run than his odds suggests looks on the cards.

6.10 BALLINROBE
FR GILLIGANSVOYGE is very much in the veteran category but age doesn’t appear to be catching up with the 13-year-old just yet based on his recent offerings and another solid run looks on the cards in a race he finished second in two years ago.
Bidding to complete a hat trick at Wexford last time out, he was one of two horses who pulled clear in the closing stages following a searching gallop and although he failed to match motors with Thewaybackhome late on, he still came out of the race with a smart speed figure.
In addition to his back-to-back victories previously, he had also scored at Downpatrick back in June and having finished in the money on each of his last nine starts, those fine list of results look like being maintained by the son of Yeats.
