The class 4 handicap won by Song N Dance at Wolverhampton generated a smart speed figure for the grade and having run well to finish a creditable fourth, NEWFANGLED is highly likely to fly the flag for the form as he heads back in the direction of a track that has served him well in the past.
Although he never looked like winning at the Dunstall Park venue, he did keep on well in the latter stages having looked in trouble off the home turn and because of the very strong pace throughout, he came away with a career high speed figure by some margin.
122334 at today’s track, dropping back into class 5 company for the first time in a while will hopefully prove the respite he requires and he rates solid each-way material at the morning odds.

LITTLETOWN LAD finally got off the mark at the 11th time of asking over today’s C&D last time out and with Sam England’s gelding winning in the style of a horse that might have done well to escape with just a minor tweak of his rating, he gains the confident vote repeat the dose.
The six-year-old was clearly edging closer to his breakthrough moment based on his effort behind a Dan Skelton improver at Uttoxeter previously and nicely backed to go one place better at the Durham venue, he duly obliged.
Travelling the best on the run down to the last 17 days ago, the son of Casamento lost ground with an error that checked his momentum, but rallying well to the cause, he soon regained his poise and in the end, he went on to score with more up his sleeve than the bare result suggested.
Only up 5lb when his superior probably meant he deserved more, there appears no obvious reason why he wouldn’t confirm form with Character Testing and Expert Analysis and he should be played accordingly.
