DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING

MONDAY JANUARY 20

3.15 WARWICK

Victory for Planned Paradise, albeit a shock one, was a welcome tonic for the Christian Williams yard and there’s a fair chance the Glamorgan can enjoy further staying handicap chase success with ALWAYS BUSY (best price 4-1).

In-keeping with most of his stable mates this term, he has been rather a slow burner in the early part of the campaign but following a better effort at Wincanton two starts ago, he backed up with another positive display at Taunton last time.

Always to the fore at the west country venue, the seven-year-old was eventually headed by Langley Hundred on the run down to the last but he did manage to keep on galloping to finish a creditable second and with the speed figure working by some way the best of his career so far to date, it makes sense to stay with him while clearly in the rudest of health.

ALWAYS BUSY – 1-point win@4-1

3.40 KEMPTON

There was a lot to like about the way ALMOSH’HER (NAP) (best price 5-2) ground out a result at Southwell on his debut 22 days ago and on the evidence of that display and breeding, he rates a strong choice to deliver the goods again upped in trip.

Backed as if defeat was out of the question, Charlie Fellows’ inmate looked in control until dive-bombed by the previous winner Muddy Mooy on the run down to the final furlong, but rallying to the call, he found extra reserves when required and, in the end, he ultimately won going away.

By Sea The Stars out of a mare who scored over 1m3f, one would imagine he will improve significantly for today’s extra two furlongs and with an attitude to suggest he won’t go down without a fight, he has all the hallmarks of a colt who can defy the penalty.

ALMOSH’HER – 2-points win@5-2

7.00 WOLVERHAMPTON

I CAN’T BELIEVE (best price 16-1) hasn’t quite seen out the extended 1m1f trip on his last two outings over today’s track but now dropping back a furlong, David Evans’ inmate has better prospects of making an impact than his morning odds imply.

The son of Magna Grecia helped force a very strong pace that ultimately led to a smart speed figure for the grade at the Midland track 25 days ago and even though beaten three lengths in the end, he still managed to finish a place ahead of the massively in-form, Overnight Oats.

In addition, both the winner and second have both won since and apart from in-form Marinakis, today’s rivals wouldn’t have been giving him too many restless nights.

I CAN’T BELIEVE – ½ point each-way@16-1
