DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING
MONDAY MARCH 31
2.45 WINCANTON
Minniemum proved an instant hit on her first start over fences at Exeter last time out and it would come as no surprise if she were to follow up but the value option might be to side with MELUSINE DE PAIL (best price 6-1) in the with and without the favourite markets in the hope she can piece together a better round of jumping than her latest encounter at Catterick.
A bad stumble at the second fence at the Yorkshire venue triggered a whole series of errors than should have, in theory, completely derailed her chances, but to her great credit, Noel Williams’ inmate kept on well to finish a respectable third behind the in-form Asa.
How she would have fared with all those costly mistakes is anyone’s guess but her performance, particularly in between fences, was one of a mare in decent shape and who should easily be found an opportunity to make a breakthrough as a chaser.
On the evidence of her run 49 days ago, three miles seemed to suit her just as well as some of her attempts over shorter and with her favoured decent ground in place, the seven-year-old grey should prove the one Minniemum has the most to think about.
MELUSINE DE PAIL – 1/2-point win@6-1

DUNSTALL RAMBLER (NAP) (best price 5-2) has questions to prove over today’s 2m4f journey, but there’s little doubt he carries the best form into race and a chance is taken on Tom George’s inmate proving equally effective than he was here last time out over shorter.
The mistake he made three out at the west country proved to be his undoing rather than anything else and considering how well he recovered and hit the line, thereafter, suggests connections are well within their rights to have a crack over further.
Prior to that slightly unlucky effort, the seven-year-old had ran out quite an impressive winner at Ludlow over the minimum trip and with today’s less demanding ground likely to put less pressure on any slight stamina issues, he rates a confident choice to win here for the second time in his career.
DUNSTALL RAMBLER – 1-point win@5-2
