DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING

SUNDAY APRIL 6

2.35 FAIRYHOUSE

FLEUR IN THE PARK (best price 15-2) hasn’t been quite getting home on genuine soft winter ground of late but with conditions switching back into his favour, Andrew Slattery’s gelding more appeal than his morning odds suggest.

The six-year-old hasn’t had much respite this season, dining at the very top table, and his runs behind the likes of The Yellow Clay (twice), The Big Westerner and Jacob’s Ladder have all been commendable efforts in defeat.

Despite the market suggesting otherwise, he was always likely to struggle on the heavy ground he encountered at Navan and he is better judged on her performance when beating Taponthego on yielding ground on his opening bow this season back in October.

Proving he goes well fresh that day, the pause he has been afforded since February will hopefully serve him well and providing he isn’t asked to go lights out from the front, there’s every chance he will be a potent force where it matters most.

5.25 FAIRYHOUSE

SWITCH FROM DIESEL (NAP) (best price 11-4) gained a deserved success for her previous endeavours at Navan last time out and she rates a confident vote to bow out for the season on a high.

Only finding subsequent Champion Bumper winner Bambino Fever too good at the DRF, Ross O’Sullivan’s mare was well supported to boast that form line for Willie Mullins’ inmate at the Meath venue a month later and having travelled strongly throughout, she duly produced the goods.

Looking back at her performance at the Dublin venue back in February, she travelled all over the field until outpointed by easily the best bumper winner we’ve seen this season and with many of today’s rivals toiling in behind, there looks no obvious reason why she can’t uphold the form.
