CLARENS (best price 9-4) did extremely well to recover his poise to finish an honourable third at Tipperary last time out and with a return to his previous C&D seen as a positive step, Johnny Flavin’s gelding can gain compensation.
Still going well approaching four out at the Limerick Junction circuit, Linden Arden fell directly in his path and, as a result, almost brought him to a complete standstill, thus, wiping out any chance he had of winning.
However, dusting himself down, he somehow managed to salvage something from the wreckage and with the time figure of his previous victory suggesting he is the one who holds all the aces, the eight-year-old rates a strong choice to back up that view.
CLARENS – 1-point win@9-4

BEST ADVENTURE (NAP) (best price 11-4) gained due rewards for a series of placed efforts with a convincing success at Newmarket last time out and with today’s step up in trip a possible source of extra improvement, Andrew Balding’s inmate can continue the upward curve.
Trying 1m2f for the first time at HQ 13 days ago, the son of Frankel settled nicely in the rear off decent fractions and brought through with a steady run from three out, he worked his way to the front with a sustained challenge to ultimately win going away.
Leaving the impression to onlookers he had plenty of petrol left in the tank as he hit the line, a mark of 74 was clearly nowhere near the level of his true capabilities and even off his revised rating, he still looks to have a decent buffer to play with going forward.
A nice type with a hold up run style to suggest he will be put to sleep early from his wide draw, expect him to come through strongly in the latter stages with a potent challenge hopefully good enough to seal the deal.
