DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING

MONDAY JUNE 2

2.42 GOWRAN

DERESSA (best price 11-4) sprinkled a little bit of stardust over the last fixture at the Kenny venue and her smooth victory over the C&D could easily be repeated if she turns up again in the same form.

From a typical Aga Khan pedigree, the daughter of Zarak seems to be improving each time, and her latest performance was sealed with a smart turn of front at the business end of a strongly run affair (fastest on the card).

Thriving on the sound pace throughout, it must be significant in context of today’s race she has won here twice, and in-keeping with many fillies who have been successful at the Kenny venue in the past for Dermot Weld, confidence is high she can maintain her progression in what is a pattern contest in all but name.

DERESSA – 1-point win@11-4

3.25 MARKET RASEN

Not a bad race for the time of year and LETTERSTON LADY (best price 11-4) is strongly fancied to back up the view she remains a well-treated horse off her current mark.

A big eye-catcher when shaping well off a break at Ffos Las on her previous start, Mickey Bowen’s mare was extremely well backed to vindicate the impression she created over three furlongs further here the following month and although she only justified her position in the market by a narrow margin, the runner-up, Bethpage, has gone to boost the form.

Lightly raced for a seven-year-old, she could easily have more improvement to come and if that theory turns out to be the case, a slight adjustment in the ratings isn’t going to be enough to prevent her winning again.

LETTERSTON LADY – 1-point win@11-4

4.27 GOWRAN

There must be a reasonable amount of significance attached to the fact GOTOMYLOVELY’s (best price 9-2) best efforts so far to date have come over today’s course and now trying a handicap for the first time off what appears a workable mark, Fozzie Stack’s inmate looks poised to go well again.

Although no match for Deressa in the closing stages at the Kenny venue, she kept on well to finish an honourable second and considering she achieved this feat after totally blowing the start, her effort deserved upgrading.

An all-the-way winner on her previous visit, she has a good draw to work from if hitting the lids with more purpose on her return and this lightly raced filly rates the value call to put her valuable track knowledge to good use.

GOTOMYLOVELY – 1-point each-way@9-2

5.40 WINDSOR

FLEETWATER (best price 8-1) ran right up to her best form when chasing home two progressive types here last time out and with that effort taking her track stats to 1243, another solid display should be forthcoming from Stan Moore’s filly.

The daughter of Ardad just found herself a shade outpaced at the hallway stage at the Berkshire venue nine days ago, but she kept on willingly in the latter stages to finish a never-nearer third and the data she produced suggested it was close to a personal best.

Undone by a wide draw on her previous visit, she was no means disgraced against similar opposition and with today’s contest seemingly not attracting anything of any great note, she rates a decent bet to hit the frame at the very least.

FLEETWATER – ½ point each-way@8-1
