DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING
MONDAY JUNE 9
4.50 SOUTHWELL
JANWORTH (best price 9-2) defied an absence of almost a year when successful at Sedgefield last time out and with the clock pointing towards her effort being a good bit than the naked eye suggested, Jamie Snowden’s inmate can be played with a degree of confidence in her bid to follow up.
The daughter of Norse Dancer set even fractions over the first circuit at the Durham venue, but she noticeably cranked up the pace in the final mile and despite being pestered by her three main market rivals from that juncture, she saw them off one by one to record a gutsy success.
Looking at the data from the race 27 days ago reveals she ran the fastest overall and final lap sectionals combined of all the races on the hurdles track and with the fourth home, Laravie, going on to boost the form next time, the eight-year-old is fancied to follow suit at a track where she ran well (finished third) on her only previous start in a bumper back in 2022.
JANWORTH – 1-point each-way@9-2
5.08 ROSCOMMON
ITSALLADREAM (best price 5-1) took a huge step forward on all his other previous efforts over fences when chasing the very smart Westport Cove home at Ballinrobe last time out and despite his hurdle rating (114) suggesting he has a bit to find with some of his main rivals, a repeat of his improved form over fences is likely to dispel that theory.
Sent off 50-1 on his chase debut previously, the fact he was backed into 8-1 for his next assignment suggested a more positive display was forthcoming and so it proved, as Paul Gilligan’s served it up to a horse rated 140 in the final mile of a well-run affair.
Significantly clear of the useful pair, Le Coq Hardi (rated 125 over hurdles) and Al Gasparo (139), the six-year-old ran way beyond his previous form suggested and even though the likes of Runcock and Birdie Or Bust fall into a similar category, the data he produced 14 days ago strongly indicates he has nothing to fear.
ITSALLADREAM – 1-point win@5-1
