DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING
WEDNESDAY JULY 9
6.00 FAIRYHOUSE
ENFRANCHISE (best price 15-2) has been a model of consistency of late and following another solid effort in a similar race to the one she faces tonight, Willie McCreery’s mare is fancied to put up another bold bid to gain her due rewards at this level.
For a horse that stays really well, 1m4f around Cork was always likely to be an insufficient test but despite this negative, she still managed to put in another decent shift to finish a respectable third behind the improving Magical Hope.
Only beaten a nose by Lemsairbat at the Mallow venue, she has an obvious chance of turning around the tables with one of her old rivals racing over an extra two furlongs this evening and having also been good enough to chase home the mighty Kyprios earlier in the campaign, her form stacks up as good as anything in the field.
ENFRANCHISE – ½ point each-way@15-2
8.55 KEMPTON
BOLD SUITOR (NAP) (best price 9-4) could be called the winner a long way out at Wolverhampton last time out and with that victory no more than he deserved based on his previous encounters, Craig Benton’s inmate can continue the good work at a track where he suffered a near miss the last time he came here two months ago.
The eight-year-old was unfortunate to bump into the upwardly-mobile White Umbrella at the Dunstall Park circuit the time before and he was extremely well supported to boost the form/speed figure on his return visit three weeks later.
Settling in the ideal spot just behind the three pace setters, he loomed up going easily turning for home and once Georgia Dobie set him alight, he soon took command and powered clear to the tune of five lengths.
Interestingly, that was the first time the son of Brazen Beau had raced without headgear for the best part of two years and with connections keen to keep the status quo, he looks primed to repeat the dose despite the assessor doing his best to prevent him from doing so.
BOLD SUITOR – 1-point win@9-4
