DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING

THURSDAY AUGUST 14

7.22 CORK

ELIZABETH JANE (best price 4-1) ran more than satisfactory against the boys on her seasonal bow at The Curragh last time out and now back in among her own sex, Dermot Weld’s filly is expected to be a good deal more competitive with that initial run under her belt.

Off the track for 251 prior to arriving at the Kildare venue, she was more than entitled to need the run and although that view was played out in the race itself, she still came away with a good deal of credit.

Keeping on well late on despite being no match for Trustyourinstinct, the daughter of Dubawi posted a career high on the data back in fourth and this lightly raced filly can start making up for lost time.

ELIZABETH JANE  – 1-point win@4-1

7.30 WINDSOR

Ian Williams has the uncanny knack of running the right type of horse for these racing league races, and NIGHT BREEZE (NAP) (best price 10-3) has the credentials keep that trend going in the same contest he won last year.

The same as when he shipped up at the Berkshire venue for the first time, the five-year-old arrives in the peak of his powers and his victory at Ascot last time out actually suggests he keeps on improving.

The fact he was forced to race wide and yet still scored with a bit to spare backs up that view and it is also worth pointing out his previous speed figures suggest he wouldn’t mind an even stronger run race than he received five days ago.

Prior to that excellent effort, he left the impression he would have beaten the improving Mount Atlas but for racing four horses deep turning into the home straight and the form of his third behind Plague De Havre at Haydock a month earlier has also been enhanced by the likes of Paddy The Squire, Sportingsilvermine and Box To Box.
