DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING

TUESDAY NOVEMBER 4

2.32 WARWICK

EZ TIGER (NAP) (best price 10-3) arguably faces a tougher test that he did when scoring in this race last season but at least he arrives here in top form and the only C&D winner in the field should give it a good lash of retaining his crown.

Alex Hales’ inmate can throw in the odd below-par effort from time to time but by and large he is a consistent performer at this level and his victory at Plumpton last time out was more than he deserved after finishing runner-up at the same venue the time before.

That success at the Sussex venue also proved he can handle some cut in the ground, which might come in handy this afternoon if the Midland track receives the forecast showers, and we know he goes well around here courtesy of his only attempt over today’s C&D.

Although not bet of the century material at the prices by any means, he still looks more one of the most solid options on a day lacking in quality right across the board.

3.45 FAIRYHOUSE

This all boils down whether NEY (best price 7-2) is fit enough after his 255-day break because he looks to be well clear ability-wise than his opposition.

The seven-year-old first sprung to prominence when bolting up on his debut for current connections at Punchestown over fences, clocking very useful speed figure, and even though he was made to work more harder for victory over today’s course next time, he duly backed the initial impression he created.

Now rated 123 as a chaser, Ned Buckley’s inmate reverts to the smaller obstacles off a 14lb lower mark and even though we have seen these so-called handicap ‘good things’ come unstuck many times over the years, the fact this guy has won off a long layoff before offers hope he won’t fall into that category.
