DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING
TUESDAY NOVEMBER 25
1.50 SOUTHWELL
Henrietta Knight is never likely to hit the heights as she did a decade or so ago, but she has proven since returning to the training ranks, she is more than capable of getting the best out of low-grade horses and MOAB (best price 9-2), who slots into that category, can finally deliver the goods over hurdles.
A winner over 1m6f on the Flat at today’s venue a month ago, the five-year-old reverted to hurdles at Fontwell last time out and although he couldn’t quite manage to repeat the dose, he lost little in defeat.
Always up with the pace at the Sussex venue, he shook off all bar Officer Of State in the final half a mile and with the pair 20 lengths clear of the rest, it is safe to say he ran to a career high.
Indeed, that view was backed up by the fact the front pair posted a better overall time figure than the 122-rated Crackerjacque over the same C&D and 2.3 seconds quicker than the same race over the final circuit.
The way he saw out the well-run extended 2m1f that day points towards him seeing out today’s extra distance and he looks the main threat to Nazare, who arrives here following a gutsy victory at Market Rasen last time out.
MAOB – 1-point win@9-2
