DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING

WEDNESDAY JULY 1

5.18 EPSOM

BOBACIOUS has run a couple of respectable races since joining new connections and Mark Hoad’s gelding has done more than enough to suggest he will make a brave attempt in a bid to defend his crown.

Winner of this race twelve months ago for Ed Dunlop, the six-year-old had rather lost his way in the interim period, but following a promising start on his first outing from his new base at Lingfield two months ago, he followed that performance up with another solid run back at the same track next time.

Floundering in the soft ground on offer at the Surrey venue late on, he now reverts to racing back on his favoured surface and with the strong possibility he will be allowed to bowl along at the head of affairs, he is worth a small interest to see whether he can hang tough.
