DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ADY HOLDING

MONDAY JULY 13

7.50 WINDSOR

CRISTO comes across as not being the most straightforward of characters, but you couldn’t fault his application at Sandown last time out and he may be worth risking again now he has got his head back in front.

The well-supported Ascending Star ensured the galop was honest right from the outset at the Esher venue and Richard Hannon’s gelding was correctly taken back off the speed to give him a chance of seeing out the stiff mile.

Pulled out to make his challenge heading down the furlong pole, he huffed and puffed for what seemed like an age but eventually went passed the game Thursday Girl on the run to the line and in getting his head in front, he ended up posting a very smart speed figure.

Clearly, the set-up of a strongly run affair over that trip and fast ground suited the son of Havana Grey and with the likes of Kalokalo and Mollie Foster having made the running before, hopefully there will be a sufficient pace for him to shine for successive races.

CRISTO – 1-point win@7-2
