A day where the bottom of the barrel can be heard scrapping all over the country, but KALEIDOSCOPE EYES makes just about enough appeal at the prices to warrant a small interest to keep the wolf from the door.
Unlike virtually all her rivals (Rosemary’s Rose has form here over a mile), the No Nay Never filly has crucial C&D form to call upon heading into this contest, and it is also well worth pointing out, two of her best speed figures have come whilst competing at the Welsh venue, including last time out.
Although only third 21 days ago, the race was extremely well run for the grade and Bernard Llewellyn’s inmate, along with the runner-up, made punters of the well-backed favourite, Tokyo Joe, have palpitations inside the final two furlongs.
A previous winner on soft ground over the C&D last season, she has now proven she handles a quicker terrain and a repeat of something similar makes her the standard bearer for the rest to try and match.
