BOOZIEBRUNCH gave up the outside to no one at Lingfield last time out, which ultimately led to his downfall, but his effort suggested he still remains in fine form and another solid run looks on the cards back at a track where he has gone on his two previous visits.
Sean Woods’ gelding was strongly fancied in many quarters to go one place better than his previous attempt at Epsom but as events panned out, he just simply forfeited too much ground away at crucial stages and despite trying valiantly to row against the tide, he had to settle for a minor role.
Moreover, the data from the race at the Surrey venue suggested it was a very good one for the grade and with the winner going on to prove the point at Goodwood the other day, the son of Coulsty can regain the winning thread.

IN THE CITY is still awaiting his first win but there has been more encouraging signs of late and now down to Class 6 for the first time, Warren Greatrex’s gelding has been presented with the kind of opportunity you would like to think he is capable of taking.
The son of Showcasing would have been hard to recommend on the back of his first three outings this season (has an issue with knees so could have been down to firm ground), failing to beat a single horse home, but fitted with the first-time visor, he ran with a good deal more promise in a competitive and well run affair over the C&D 15 days ago.
Although he didn’t exactly set the world alight that day, finishing sixth of the 10 runners, he did only get beaten just over two lengths and with the speed figure pointing towards him posting his best ever performance on the data, a repeat of something similar should be good enough to see him in the mix in today’s weaker affair.
