DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY AANDY HOLDING

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 21

1.40 WORCESTER

A beginners chase to really set the juices flowing and KLIMT MADRIK is easily good enough to make the perfect start to his new vocation if anywhere near full fitness.

Both Talk To The Man and Scorpio Rising have the potential to make into lovely chasers but Toby Lawes’ inmate has always come across as being better in this discipline compared to what he achieved over hurdles – which was a fair level (rated 143) as it stands.

His runner-up spot to No Drama This End in the Grade 1 Challow Hurdle elevated his status as a top quality novice last season and his final effort when eighth in the Turners at the Cheltenham in March was easily as good, if not better based on the data.

Not only did he turn around the Newbury form with his old rival when last seen, there was no shame in getting beat sixth lengths in one of the most competitive renewals of the big 2m4f Grade 1 run at the festival in many years and with the size and scope to suggest he will find the larger obstacles to his taste, the son of Choeur Du Nord can kick start what should turn out be an exciting second part of his career.

KLIMT MADRIK – 1-point win@5-2

3.35 NEWMARKET

GIRL SCOUT has gradually improved with each run and following a convincing display both visually and on the data at Haydock last time out, Karl Burke’s filly has a better chance than her odds suggest to complete the hat trick.

The daughter of Perfect Power needed her first two runs mentally more than anything else but with those initial runs under her belt and since stepped up in trip, she has really come into her own.

A gutsy victory on heavy ground over a mile at the Merseyside venue was followed up in more impressive fashion on her return to the same C&D last time out and with her speed figure suggesting she took her levels of performance to greater heights, confidence is high she can cope with today’s rise in class.

GIRL SCOUT – ½ point each-way@13-2 (three places)
