DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING
TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 16
1.48 PUNCHESTOWN
Not a bad fillies’ maiden to kick off the card but LOOKINGFORARAINBOW (best price 7-4) brings the sort of form to the table that would win a race of this nature nine times out of ten and Donnacha O’Brien’s inmate is taken to justify that statement over a trip that should play into her strengths.
Making her debut at the Curragh a month ago, the daughter of Justify took a while for the penny to drop during a well-run affair but the latter stages of her work was very encouraging and the fact she managed to finish a never-nearer third from a position of weakness bears testimony to her ability.
Not only did she post a smart speed figure in a race that was clearly above average for a novice event, but the form also took an almighty boost with winner, Diamond Necklace, scoring in emphatic fashion at a higher level at Leopardstown over the weekend and a repeat of something similar would surely make her hard to beat in this weaker affair on paper.
Drawn favourably in stall two, a good break should see her in a position of strength through the first half a mile and judged on her work in the latter stages of her opening gambit, the second half of today’s race should be her strongest.
Of the three breathing down her neck in the morning markets, White Sand Beach must be respected housed in Aidan O’Brien’s barn but as for La Fogata, she hails from astable that are 0-27 in the last 14 days and have gone 34 runners since last having a winner. Ifweonlyhavelove landed a barrier trial at Leopardstown recently, so she clearly has ability but 5-1 looks plenty short enough first time up against a filly like Lookingforarainbow.
LOOKINGFORARAINBOW – 2-points win@7-4

Bumpy Evans arrives here on a bit of a roll, but the change of scenery might not necessarily be a good thing regards maintaining continuity and OLIVERS TRAVELS (best price 10-3) will be waiting in the wings to pounce on any slight nosedive in form.
Mickey Bowen’s inmate gained his due rewards for a series of fine placed efforts at Cartmel last time out and if the speed figure of his victory is any guide, he arrives here right at the peak of his powers.
Prior to that career high performance, the seven-year-old had run well on two visits to today’s venue and with the first of the pair coming in the shape of a creditable fourth in the valuable and competitive Summer Plate, he also ticks the boxes on account of solid track form.
With Bumpy Evans in the field, not to mention a few others who like to crack on with proceedings, the son of Sea Moon should get the soundly run race he desires and with the king-of-the-patient rides, Sean Bowen in the saddle, he can hopefully be delivered to a nicety.
OLIVERS TRAVELS – 1-point win@3-1
