DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING

MONDAY NOVEMBER 10

1.30 KEMPTON

KASINO DES MOTTES (best price 11-4) shaped with a good deal more promise than the bare result suggested on his rules debut at Cheltenham last month and, in what is clearly a much weaker race on paper, Joe Tizzard’s inmate can show his true worth.

Impressive in an Irish point for previous connections, the five-year-old was pitched into a warm heat for his first effort from his current base a month ago and although he failed to make a massive impact, he did leave the impression a bright future awaits further down the time.

It might well be the three miles and fences will be the department where he really shines but for now, today’s test should prove to be well within his capabilities and with that initial run under his belt, a good positive ride can reap maximum rewards.

KASINO DES MOTTES – 1-point win@11-4

2.30 KEMPTON

SAINT ANAPOLINO (best price 9-2) did well to recover from a bad mistake at the fifth at Cheltenham on his seasonal bow to finish a respectable sixth in a competitive handicap and, returning a track that witnessed one of his best performances during last campaign, the lightly raced gelding has a decent chance of adding to his haul.

In a good position and travelling nicely heading away from the stands at the Prestbury venue, the six-year-old proceeded to headbutt the first going down the back and although the mistake didn’t appear to do any lost lasting damage at the time, it finally caught up with him at the business end.

Unable to go with the main players from off the home turn, he still came out of the race with a reasonable amount of credit and there is no doubt today’s contest is a good deal weaker in comparison.

Not only that, the son of Jeu St Eloi should turn out to be more appreciative of today’s flatter, right-handed track and with the first-time hood on presumably there just to pacify his enthusiasm, Saint Anapolino appears one of the more likely solutions to the puzzle.

SAINT ANAPOLINO – 1-point each-way@9-2 (three places)
