DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING

WEDNESDAY MARCH 25

2.11 HEXHAM

CUSHENDUN has a little bit of an exposed profile but in his defence, he has been plying his trade against some smart novices on the northern circuit and today looks a good opportunity for him to have his day in the spotlight.

Ian Duncan’s inmate found the likes of the 130-rated Gatineau Park and useful Out Of The Woods too strong for him in the latter stages at Ayr last time out, but he did manage to finish well clear of old rival Tashkhan, who got the better of him in a previous encounter over today’s C&D.

On his only outing at the Borders venue, the seven-year-old ran with a good deal of credit considering it was his first outing for 630 days and in a race where major contenders seem thin on the ground, he has the form and track knowledge to finally break his maiden tag.

CUSHENDUN – 1-point win@2-1

4.30 HEREFORD

MISS CARBO has run better than her finishing position has suggested in several races so far to date and now racing at a more realistic level, Neil Mulholland’s mare has brighter prospects than her odds merit to back up that view.

Thought good enough by connections to run at listed level at Taunton back in December, the daughter of Bathyrhon unfortunately wasn’t up to the task and although she has failed to cut much ice back in maiden hurdle company since, the data for both races have indicated she has been in quite deep.

In short, she has been getting outpaced over two miles in races that have been run at a true gallop and with today’s contest over 2m4f likely to provide her with much more time to breathe, the four-year-old is fancied to come into her own.

MISS CARBO – 1-point win@9-2
