DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING

FRIDAY JUNE 12

2.25 YORK

FURTURRA got rewarded for his previous endeavours when landing a similar race to todays at Musselburgh last time out and based on the data he posted that day, all roads lead to him putting in a bold bid to follow up.

Dropping in trip at the Scottish venue, the son of Caturra travelled strongly in behind the fast pace set and when delivered with his challenge a furlong out, he found the necessary turn of foot to put the race to bed.

Prior to that notable success, Tim Easterby’s inmate had been beaten by one of today’s market rivals, Everatease at Chester, but unlike the winner, he didn’t get the smoothest of passages that day and there is more than a fair chance he can get closer, or even turn around the form over a more galloping track.

FURTURRA – 1-point each-way@13-2 (four places)

3.23 SANDOWN

Monday’s Leicester winner, Noble Horizon, is going to be a dangerous opponent to all if allowed to dominate in the way he controlled matters at the midland venue, but DANGERMAN will be a happy bunny with something to track at a good gallop and John & Thady Gosden’s gelding can maintain his fine record at today’s track.

Well beaten on his seasonal bow at Epsom, the undulations and way the race played out at the Surrey venue wouldn’t have suited but he now returns to a track where his record reads 113, so there is every chance he will show significant improvement.

Moreover, his latest effort at the Esher track was boosted by the winner, Saddadd, in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at Group 1 level recently and a decent break from a potentially favourable draw in stall one should him competitive throughout.

DANGERMAN – 1-point each-way@9-2 (four places)

4.10 YORK

ALTAREQ left the impression a mile was just on the sharp side for him at Hamilton last time out and now returning to the scene of his previous eye-catching effort, Jim Goldie’s inmate is fancied to come into his own.

Unless you watched his run over today’s C&D at the Dante meeting blindfolded, you couldn’t but miss his superb effort on his first start for new connections and he was fancied to go two places better at the Scottish venue last time out.

Unfortunately, the combination of being held up last off a slow pace which was dictated by the eventual winner didn’t play into his strength and he ended up having to settle for running on nicely down the outside to be never nearer ay the finish.

Currently rated just 83, he will need to rise significantly to get into to something like the John Smith’s Cup back on The Knavesmire in the second week in July, but victory here today will go a long way to ensure he becomes part of the conversation, and a big run looks on the cards.

ALTAREQ  – 1-point win@3-1
