DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING

FRIDAY JULY 3

7.25 WEXFORD

NOUVOTIC blew away his rivals in spectacular fashion when making virtually all the running at Punchestown last time out – posting a very fast speed figure – and providing he remains in the ‘zone’ on his return to the fray 66 day on, Henry De Bromhead’s gelding can take this before a possible tilt at the Galway Plate becomes part of the conversation.

The seven-year-old made it 3-5 as a chaser at the Kildare venue and the feature of his performance was the way he attacked his fences, gaining a total of 12.85 lengths over his obstacles according to the RaceIQ data.

It was also a similar story when he ran away with a lesser event over today’s C&D back in October and that notable success meant he made it 3-3 at the tight, left-handed circuit.

With Ballybrit just around the corner, it is always hard to know what connections are thinking when putting final touches on preparations but being the son of Morandi is such an exuberant sort, it might prove difficult to curb his enthusiasm.
