DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 15

2.00 WORCESTER

COURTLAND (NAP) (best price 15-8) can count himself very unlucky to bump into the hugely progressive Ballysax Hank at Market Rasen last time out and with nothing of that class in today’s field, Micky Bowen’s inmate can win again at the track where his record in second to none.

Teed up for a crack at the big summer prize at the Lincolnshire track, the 10-year-old looked for all the world turning for home that he was going to execute the plan until along came the well-handicapped Gavin Cromwell novice to spoil the party late on.

Still, it was a performance by the son of Court Cave to suggest he has plenty to offer even heading towards the twilight of his career and with the winner going on to signal his wellbeing with a victory on the Flat next time, the form looks solid.

The biggest factor towards his chances here this afternoon, however, stem from the fact his last three visits to the Midland venue have all resulted in smooth victories and with the latest one coming over the C&D off the same mark as the one he current presides on, Courtland rates a strong choice to justify his position in the market (backed in from 4-1 yesterday).

COURTLAND – 2-point win@15-8

7.00 KEMPTON

MEDIA DARLING (best price 7-2), as the market anticipated, stepped up markedly on her debut effort with a breakthrough success at Ayr last time out and the carriage of her progression train looks well worth jumping aboard at the morning odds.

A big-eyecatcher on her opening gambit at Newbury back in August, Stuart Williams’ inmate was sent on the long journey north in a bid to get off the mark and having been handed a golden opportunity in terms of opposition she faced, she duly made no mistake.

Making all the running to score with plenty in hand, she also posted a smart speed figure and given the all-round pace she showed, a smart break from stall 1 will hopefully mean she will be putting today’s rival to the sword from an early stage.
