DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING

THURSDAY MARCH 19

4.00 CORK

One of many big-field, extremely competitive events here today at Cork but ONEFORTHEDITCH makes plenty of appeal to run her usual consistent race at a track where she has gone well in the past.

Since last August, the daughter of Shirocco has only once finished outside the frame, and that was when she was sixth in an ultra-competitive mares’ handicap hurdle at the DRF a month ago – which is hardly a sackable offence.

Returning to the Dublin venue on her latest outing, Eammon Gallagher’s inmate reverted to type when finishing runner-up to the in-form Missus Beeton and with the fourth, Catchabird, going on to boost the form with a win at Wexford two days ago, there was no shame in her performance.

Runner-up the last time she raced at the Mallow circuit, she also has a victory next to her name here when landing a competitive handicap back in August 2024 and with the strong possibility she will put in another solid shift, double figure quotes can be worked with from a win and place only perspective.

ONEFORTHEDITCH – ½ point each-way@12-1 (six places)
