DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING
TUESDAY NOVEMBER 11
1.43 FAIRYHOUSE
Some nice prospects on show for this beginners’ chase but arguably FLICKER OF HOPE (best price 11-2) carries one of the strongest pieces of form lines to the table and he looks overpriced to build on that initial promising start over fences.
Beginning his new vocation at Wexford 15 days ago, the son of Buck’s Boum faced a baptism of fire up against the likes of Fleur In The Park and Tullyhill but despite the pace being extremely strong and the trip a bare minimum for his requirements, he still managed to keep on well to finish a respectable distance behind the two main players.
More renown for his exploits over further as a hurdler last season (won over three miles), working his way through the ranks from 107 to 132, some of his most notable efforts came when the mud was flying, so the combination of 2m4f and heavy ground here today should see Mark Fahey’s inmate in a much better light.

GOLDEN AMIBITION (best price 9-2) can have his off days, but he was good when landing this contest last year and with his preparation for a repeat bid a clear indication he arrives here in fair shape, Ben Pauling’s inmate should put up a decent defence of his title.
Arriving at Uttoxeter last month following an 82-day break, the six-year-old chestnut forced the issue until headed after the second last, but rather than completely retreating, he kept on valiantly all the way to the line to finish a close-up third.
Of course, there is always a slight risk when a horse goes back over hurdles having been accustomed to racing a different tempo, but he showed plenty of pace when required at the business end of this race last year and hope is high, he can find the necessary requirements on his return visit.
