SPACEMAN hasn’t quite hit the heights many anticipated (this writer included) since catching the eye behind the very smart Saber Strike on his debut at Redcar last season but he did promise of better days ahead with his effort on handicap debut at Southwell last time out and he rates a strong choice to build on the impression he created 22 days ago.
Given the way he stayed on over six furlongs on his only start at two, it seemed rather odd the son of Starman was asked to race over the minimum trip on his first outing this term but despite his lack of suitability for 5f, he somehow overcame adversity to score over today’s course next time.
Finally up to a distance in-keeping with his profile at the Midland venue last time, he made a brave attempt against many older horse specialist over seven-furlongs and if it wasn’t for challenging up the inside on the slower part of the track, he may have well won.
Returning to the Dunstall venue against a field who by and large don’t have as much upside as he offers, Richard & Peter Fahey’s colt can take advantage of his current mark of 76 – which is likely to prove south of his true worth long term.

DANCE TIME may not have the sexy profile of some, but she does have a record at today’s venue that reads 513314 and those set of results suggests she deserves more respect than her morning odds imply.
In fact, it’s not just here where her skill set ends, her overall record on the all-weather reads 6 wins from 19 starts, which strongly suggests the best version of her performance levels will be seen tonight.
Moreover, the fact she ran so well on the turf at Carlisle last time out adds an extra dimension on the scale of confidence she will bring her A-game to tonight’s assignment and when you also consider the race at the Cumbrian venue was a track record, her solid case is there for all to see.
