DAILY RACING PREVIEW BY ANDY HOLDING
TUESDAY OCTOBER 6
1.31 LEICESTER
There is not a lot to choose between SIR DAVID and Shark Two One on their recent encounter over today’s C&D, but preference is for the former to turn around the form with his old rival based on the fact he has a better draw from which to work.
Of the four straight track races run here last month, only Mumuyaz defied a low draw and with Shark Two One heading the posse over towards the nearside rail from gate 12, breaking from stall two and racing over the other part of the course was always likely to spell danger for Nigel Tinkler’s inmate.
Even so, the son of Mehmas made a brave attempt to overcome the bias and in only getting beaten a neck, there is every reason to feel optimistic he can gain his revenge being drawn right next to his conqueror on his return visit.
SIR DAVID – 1-point each-way@11-2

INSUSPENCE dug herself out to what appeared to be a big hole over today’s C&D last time out and with recent form figures on the all-weather that read, 222221, there is plenty of hope that impressive sequence of results will be upheld on her return to the Midland venue.
Ross Burdon’s filly certainly wasn’t winning out of turn at here 19 days ago, but it was a victory that was far from straightforward, coming from a long way back after a slow beginning to nick the prize late on.
Unsurprisingly, given how much ground she made up inside the final three furlongs, her closing split in that time frame was significantly the quickest of the runners on the nine-race card and while accepting it isn’t in tablets of stone the daughter of Bated Breath will have a similar charmed life in her bid to repeat the dose, at least she arrives her in the sort of form that will allow her every chance to do so.
INSUSPENCE – 1-point win@5-2
